With aviation jet fuel set for a major global transformation, how can we ensure that Australia doesn't miss the opportunity to create a new industry and capitalise on this opportunity? What role can Australia play in creating the 4 billion litres annually that the global airlines are calling for?

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has set targets for an annual average increase in fuel efficiency each year from 2009 to 2020 of 1.5%; carbon-neutral growth from 2020; and reduction in emissions of 50% of the 2005 figures by 2050.

Hear from Australian airlines, fuel distributors and sustainable fuel producers about the opportunity and the challenges. This panel session will be facilitated by Chris Tindal, CAAFI and Strategic Biofutures Advisor to the QLD Government and will seek to identify the key barriers and road blocks that we need to address.

The event will also showcase recent international and domestic developments in the production of sustainable aviation fuels.
